This is the Bullet Proof Diesel EGR cooler that we installed on our 2005 6.0-liter 4ร4 Excursion. This is the later version EGR cooler that uses the square body instead of the round body. Bullet Proof Diesel uses factory housings with all-new internals to ensure that each cooler fits properly. To understand why the EGR cooler plays such a
An EGR delete gets rid of the EGR system. Some aftermarket performance kit lets you remove the EGR valve to prevent exhaust gas from being routed back into the engine. The benefits of deleting the EGR system include a boost in horsepower, better fuel economy, longer engine life, and reduced engine temperature, among others.
There are four primary emissions systems on the L5P. EGR, DOC, SCR, and DPF. All of these systems with the exception of EGR sit within the exhaust system. Deleting the L5P DPF will remove not only the DPF but also the DOC and SCR components, and the need for DEF fluid. The EGR must be deleted separately.
Delete means "to remove or obliterate text or printed matter". It also refers to a key on a computer keyboard. EGR valves and DPFs aren't text or printed matter. As said above, it stems from the

The major upside to deleting the EGR is not recirculating exhaust gas and soot back into your engine. The EGR is put in place to reduce NOX by lowering the combustion temperature. That's literally one of it's only uses. But an engine that's tuned properly shouldn't have any issue with that anyway.
