A6 / S6 (C5 Platform) Discussion - Evap system purge valve replacement (N80) - Hello, I have a 2001 Audi A6 2.7t quattro and need to replace my evap purge valve, I would like to know where the purge valve is located and i attached a picture of what i think it looks like on my car. VAG dealers are routinely charging customers between £600 and £1300 to replace EGRs. Quite a lot of dismantling is involved to remove the old one and fit the new one. But £1600 is ridiculous. If this is a 1.6TDI, subject to the impending NOx emissions defeat software and hardware fix, and you bought it from the same dealer who wants £1600

Because of the cost and the fact I was told the car is fine to drive, I've continued driving without any issues. Today however, my car has been at an Audi dealer for a service and they have identified a broken wire on the EGR cooler change over valve, which could be the cause of the engine management light. They're quoting nearly £200 to fix this.
